Her paintings harmoniously combine color, form and line, surface and space, abstraction and
imagery, image and text. Individual colored areas are applied with strong colors and then coated
layer by layer. Partly the layers are scratched. In addition to acrylic, she often uses colored
watercolor pencils, oil pastels, and sometimes scratches thin lines on raw acrylic. And when the
story is told, then the picture is complete. Sometimes after 15 minutes, sometimes after a few days
or even weeks. The work is then hung on the white wall of the workshop, checked over and over again,
and finally signed and varnished. At this moment, calmness hovers in the usually pulsating space of
the studio. Time, peace and space for observers, for their own stories and an invitation to let
thoughts wander and find their place in the colorful world of Tatjana Auschew.
